| Guild event schedule
Please download this addon (GROUP CALENDAR) * to make use of our in-game scheduling system. It's very simple - you just find a raid or other event that you're interested in (right from inside the game) and sign up if your class is still needed for that particular raid. Many of our events are purely for fun and ganking (ie - The Operation Extinction Pain Train™, OpEx presents: Christmas in July™, OpEx presents: Fiesta Friday™, random STV raids, etc.) and several of them may have a theme, such as all wearing Santa outfits during the raid.
Scheduled raid locations will be posted in the Guild Message Of The Day. We will be creating new raid times to accomodate day, evening, and late-nite players alike.
Current progression content invites will generally begin at 7:00 PM or 3:30 PM on weekends.. This means that we start sending summons from the stone (or warlock summons if outdoor raid) at 7:00 PM and we actually enter the instance portal no later than 7:30 PM. The second group (if running that week) will be scheduled so as to accomodate the maximum number of people who are unable to make the first run. On occasion we may have 3 or 4 runs going to farm badges. Please consult the in-game Group calendar addon and/or ask an officer if you need more information.
Please try to meet at the designated location 30 minutes ahead of time so we can pass out food, water, bandages, kitties, enchant your boots, or whatever needs to be done prior to raid time so that we don't end up killing an hour before we actually begin. (It's easier to waste an hour than you think...) Iinvites begin 30 minutes prior to scheduled raid time, and you will be counted as a no-show 15 minutes after the scheduled raid time.
We will provide summons up to the time we begin the instance. In the case of old world raids where attendance is considered optional, stragglers may have to find their own way to the instance portal, but once you step inside the instance, we can lock-summon you to our current location within the instance.
Raid Rules
Gear:
For guild instances, the standing policy is "If you actually need it, you may click need (or roll), no questions asked." This policy may be edited slightly for the end-game runs, and raids are typically set to Master Looter so that loot can be discussed prior to passing it out, as it is beneficial to the entire guild to gear up certain people first, such as the main tank, etc. (The faster the MT gets geared up, the easier our subsequent runs will be.) In certain cases, Fluufy (or the raid leader) will pass out gear as is appropriate to provide the most benefit to the guild/raid as a whole. In 99% of cases, however, a simple but fair system (mostly consisting of simply discussing it over vent with the raid as a whole) has long since been implemented to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance at some decent gear. Yes, it's only fair that the folks who put in raid time during the "not so fun" parts get their due reward for it, but we also understand that some members have work schedules that may conflict with certain raid times, and this is also taken into consideration. Effort counts in this guild. :D When in doubt there's always the "both of you guys roll for it" solution.
As certain instances go on farm status, gear becomes less of an issue, as there will often be cases where most people who might have a use for a drop already have the same gear or better. (One of the perks of a large and decently geared guild!)
Raid loot is quickly discussed on vent, and a /roll if there's 2 people that need it about the same. That's it. We've never had a guild fight over loot and we're not going to start now.
As for the higher level gear, it is generally distributed on a common sense "whoever needs it rolls for it" basis, but in some cases, we may (as a raid/guild) decide to give a particular piece to a specific person as needed. For example, the Main Tank should get priority on a tank piece over the offtank, and then the offtank can roll for it the next time. This isn't playing favorites, this is simple math. Better geared primary tanks and healers = more loot for everyone.
Gank raids :
For guild gank raids (ie - Tarren Mill, Undercity, etc.), the standing policy after a wipe (which is usually inevitable) is "Do not rez and rush in solo. Wait for the whole group to do a ghost run and rez at the same time before you begin the fight ." If you rez and attempt to fight before everyone else is there, you will die in 3 seconds.
* Due to a change in Blizzard's TOS that rather screws over the addon authors, several addon authors have stopped all work and/or distribution of their addons in protest. Among those is the creator of Group Calendar and Outfitter. As such, we may be moving to the in-game calendar at some point. Updates on this issue will be given in vent and in game. |
